The mission of the Foodbank of the VA Peninsula is to distribute food effectively through collaborative efforts that minimize hunger, promote nutrition and self-reliance through education. Volunteers can help in our warehouse to sort food, clean the cans, stock shelves, coolers and freezers, pack food bags, pull food orders, cook meals in the kitchen (during school season), offload trucks, and perform light housekeeping duties such as sweeping and mopping. Volunteers can help out at special events which take place on weekends or evenings.

Preschool Partners assists early childhood programs in quality improvements through the Virginia QRIS (Quality Rating and Improvement System).  The organization also assists parents in finding a child care or preschool program that meets the family's needs. Volunteer opportunities include mentor's assistant which would involve visits to different child care or preschool sites and assisting mentor as needed. Summer internship opportunity may be available.
